Counting, number recognition, one to one correspondence

We continue on with our winter unit.  Today we practiced reading numbers on mittens and glued down Honeycomb cereal to match the number on the mitten.

Skills needed:

Number recognition

Fine motor

Counting items (which is harder than just rote counting)

DD knows how to use glue, but if you are worried about your toddler making a mess, use hand over hand to get globs of glue down on the mitten.  I used my electronic cutter to make the mittens.

Making sure she has two pieces for her mitten

Putting globs of glue down-she tends to use too little glue, so I have to encourage her to use a bit more

Putting pieces down on her glue globs

The final project!  She did great!
